Who Benefits

"Looking back, I would not trade my time at St. John's for living in the nicest apartment in Sydney."

The benefits of having Catholic Residence Halls on public campuses are far-reaching and extends to students, parents, the Universities and Catholic Campus Ministries as well as the Church and society.

"The Newman incorporates the 'whole person' formation concept: mind, body, spirit. It allows 24/7 formation and ministry to take place with the students; it builds a much stronger sense of identity and community among that constituency, who then, in turn, really become our ambassadors and 'Newman disciples' to go recruit other non-resident Catholics; it provides better opportunities for spiritual direction and vocation discernment (eating together in the cafe, just hanging out late at night, access to the Chapel, etc.), and it provides a great template for Catholic leadership training among our Resident Assistants, the Executive Board, and others."
