Domvs: Communities in Faith is a partnership between Entertainment Properties Trust and Petrus Development.

Petrus Development was created for one main purpose – the advancement of Catholic ministry in higher education through long-term sustainable fund development programs. Petrus consultants have combined experience of more than 55 years in the field, with a broad background in fund development, a proven record of success and firm commitment to clients.

 

Tim Lies - CEOTim Lies

Tim Lies spent 16 years with Gould Evans Affiliates, a nationally recognized architectural design firm, as their Principal in Charge of Finance and Human Resources.  During that time, the firm grew from 40 to 240 professionals in eight regional offices specializing in the design of civic, commercial, religious and academic buildings including student housing.  Tim’s role with the firm spanned from securing financing to enable the growth of the company to recruiting talent to meet client demands.  He also spent parts of his career in community and economic development with the cities of Kansas City, Missouri and Topeka, Kansas.  Tim holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas as well as undergraduate degrees in economics and environmental studies.  He is also a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Design, where he has lectured on design and management for nearly 20 years and serves on the Board of Capital City Bank in Topeka, Lawrence and Overland Park, Kansas.  Inspired by their studies in Italy, Tim and Mary, his wife, own and operate an antique import store that specializes in furniture, artwork and religious objects from Italy.  The couple and their three children, Jarrett, Quincy and Nolan, live in Olathe, Kansas and attend Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

John Flynn served as Director of Institutional Advancement at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center at the University of Kansas for eleven years. During that time, John worked with the staff to augment the level of private gift support for St. Lawrence. Today, St. Lawrence has an annual budget exceeding $1.5 million with a full-time staff of 22, and has recently completed a capital campaign exceeding the initial goal of $11 million by raising a total of more than $13 million. For several years, on an ad-hoc basis, John consulted with over 50 Catholic Campus Ministries across the United States. He has helped many of these implement new development programs while assisting others to enhance and expand their existing programs. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. In 2004, John co-founded Petrus Development with long-time friend and colleague in the field Peter de Keratry. John and his wife Lucy have four children, Jack, Kate, Matthew, and Molly and live in Lawrence, Kansas. John and his family attend Corpus Christi Parish.

Peter is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), with more than 12 years experience in fund development initiatives. While an undergraduate student at Texas A&M, Peter worked for St. Mary’s Catholic Center, helping to raise $4.9 million to construct a student center. After graduating from Texas A&M, Peter worked for CCS Fundraising, the nation's largest fundraising consulting firm, assisting clients in major capital fundraising campaigns. While working for CCS, Peter completed an Executive Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. In 2001, Peter became the Campaign Director on a $100 million capital campaign for The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. In 2004, Peter co-founded Petrus Development with long-time friend and colleague in the field John Flynn. Peter and his wife Colleen have one son, Andrew, and live in Austin, Texas. They attend the Church of the Resurrection, Emmaus Catholic Parish.
